RE BUSINESS ONLINE, February 23, 2009 The Goldenberg Group and Raymour & Flanigan proudly announce that Raymour & Flanigan Furniture(r) will become the newest tenant at Columbus Commons, South Philadelphia’s premier shopping center, located at Columbus Boulevard and Snyder Avenue. The third fastest-growing and 10th largest conventional furniture and mattress retailer in the U.S., Raymour & Flanigan has signed a lease for 35,308 square feet and expects to be open for business in June of 2009. This will be Raymour & Flanigan’s 88th store in seven states in the Northeast, and its first store in the Center City area of Philadelphia. “Even in this challenging economic environment, retailers recognize the importance of having a presence in the best locations. We’re delighted to welcome Raymour & Flanigan to South Philadelphia’s finest retail center,” said Adam Rosenzweig, Vice President Leasing for The Goldenberg Group. “This project allows us to continue to expand our offerings to meet the demands and needs of our customers. Raymour & Flanigan will be a great addition to Columbus Commons.” Raymour & Flanigan Furniture is well known throughout the Northeast for its total commitment to enhancing the customers’ shopping experience, and remains committed to helping each customer achieve their dream of a home and express their style by providing great furniture, exceptional customer service and proven quality. The retailer carries some of the best-known furniture brands such as Bellanest, Berkline, Bernhardt, Broyhill, Cindy Crawford Home, Clayton Marcus, La-Z-Boy, Natuzzi, Rowe, Sealy, Stanley Furniture, Stearns & Foster and Tempur-Pedic. Raymour & Flanigan currently has two locations in Philadelphia proper. “Our expansion into Center City Philadelphia affords us the opportunity to provide additional, convenient service to customers in the greater Philadelphia market,” said Scott Milnamow, Vice President of Real Estate Development, Raymour & Flanigan. Columbus Commons, a development of The Goldenberg Group, opened in the summer of 2004 on what was 50 acres of vacant industrial space in South Philadelphia. Now a dynamic Philadelphia retail destination, this 643,810 square foot development is home to a mix of international, national and regional retail and restaurant tenants including IKEA, Lowe’s, Best Buy, Champps and others. Columbus Commons is adjacent to Snyder Plaza, another shopping center developed by The Goldenberg Group in the mid-1980s. Combined, the retail assemblage collectively accounts for nearly 1 million square feet of retail space in the South Philadelphia area. The location is convenient to major highway arteries and bridges.
