Thanks to everyone who participated in the Plymouth Creek Restoration Project!

The Goldenberg Group, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), the Montgomery County Conservation District and our amazing volunteers planted 200 natural trees and shrubs along the creek beside the Metroplex Shopping Center, near the intersection of Chemical and Gallagher Roads.

The Plymouth Creek Restoration Project will encourage new vegetation in the basin and will filter pollutants from storm water that runs downhill and into the creek. This will also prevent flooding and stabilize the soil against erosion and sedimentation. The trees and shrubs will reduce the stream water’s temperature and will provide an improved habitat for aquatic wildlife. The overall effect will be to better the water quality of Plymouth Creek, which flows through highly developed portions of Plymouth Township and Conshohocken and directly into the Schuylkill River.
